Beyond Motion Testimonials
I first heard Amy speak about four years ago, I was intrigued by her message - it made so much sense, "a healthy lifestyle can be achieved through motion, healthy eating and nutritional supplements." I had recently gained ten pounds and knew that I would lose these newly found pounds quickly on my own and had no need for "outside help." Fast forward four years and my pesky ten pounds have turned to a solid twenty-five.

During these past four years, I tried Jenny Craig, South Beach Diet, Weight Watcher's and a prescription weight loss pill prescribed by my doctor. You may say these are excuses, but here is why they didn't work for me and why they may not work for you.
  • Jenny Craig - all packaged food, yes it tasted okay, but who wants to eat it? Jenny Craig didn't allow for business or social meals with friends.
  • South Beach Diet - great diet, incredible results, but I ate one piece of bread and gained it all back, and then some!
  • Weight Watcher's - I'm smart and I figured out how to work the point system to my "advantage." And I didn't want to spend the rest of my life counting points!
  • Prescription weight loss drug - gave me a heart condition. Six months later, I was at the same weight AND taking heart medication....um, hello?
My most recent attempt was with Weight Watcher's - which I followed to the letter and I gained two more pounds. That's when I had had enough. I printed out my online Weight Watcher's journal and set up an appointment with Amy. She reviewed my food, and pointed out some glaring problems. One was that I was not eating enough during the day (What? Who knew?). She also pointed out that I was really working the Weight Watcher's system - apparently, you can't have ice cream and wine at dinner every night - even if you have you enough points saved up!!

It has been a month since I have put a number of Amy's suggestions into place and I have lost twelve pounds. I still eat out - not as often, but I'm able to do it and, don't tell Amy, but I'm still allowing myself a glass of wine a few nights a week!

I've also incorporated exercise into my life - if I have plans in the evening, I'll get up earlier that morning and get my exercise in. Period, no excuses.

I don't make it to the studio as often as I would like, but I love knowing it is there, ready for me to take advantage of the classes, and her nutritional expertise!
