I first heard Amy speak about four years ago, I was intrigued by her message - it made so much sense, "a healthy lifestyle can be achieved through motion, healthy eating and nutritional supplements." I had recently gained ten pounds and knew that I would lose these newly found pounds quickly on my own and had no need for "outside help." Fast forward four years and my pesky ten pounds have turned to a solid twenty-five.

During these past four years, I tried Jenny Craig, South Beach Diet, Weight Watcher's and a prescription weight loss pill prescribed by my doctor. You may say these are excuses, but here is why they didn't work for me and why they may not work for you.
• Jenny Craig - all packaged food, yes it tasted okay, but who wants to eat it? Jenny Craig didn't allow for business or social meals with friends.
• South Beach Diet - great diet, incredible results, but I ate one piece of bread and gained it all back, and then some!
• Weight Watcher's - I'm smart and I figured out how to work the point system to my "advantage." And I didn't want to spend the rest of my life counting points!
• Prescription weight loss drug - gave me a heart condition. Six months later, I was at the same weight AND taking heart medication....um, hello?
My most recent attempt was with Weight Watcher's - which I followed to the letter and I gained two more pounds. That's when I had had enough. I printed out my online Weight Watcher's journal and set up an appointment with Amy. She reviewed my food, and pointed out some glaring problems. One was that I was not eating enough during the day (What? Who knew?). She also pointed out that I was really working the Weight Watcher's system - apparently, you can't have ice cream and wine at dinner every night - even if you have you enough points saved up!!

It has been a month since I have put a number of Amy's suggestions into place and I have lost twelve pounds. I still eat out - not as often, but I'm able to do it and, don't tell Amy, but I'm still allowing myself a glass of wine a few nights a week!

I've also incorporated exercise into my life - if I have plans in the evening, I'll get up earlier that morning and get my exercise in. Period, no excuses.

I don't make it to the studio as often as I would like, but I love knowing it is there, ready for me to take advantage of the classes, and her nutritional expertise!

After working out consistently for about a year, I started doing Pilates reformer with Amy in January 2009, and she catapulted my desire to be fit. While in Chicago over the Summer, I started playing tennis 4x/week. When we got back to Naples in November, I started at Beyond Motion and I'm there 5-6x/week doing various things.

My partner David and I started personal training with Rick, which the first time David and I have worked out together, and it's been a wonderful experience!! Training is not only fun, but we keep each other motivated. Even though we have completely different strengths and weaknesses, Rick has tailored our workouts so that we both get the maximum benefits.

Beyond Motion is by far the best environment I have ever worked out in. As soon as you walk through the doors, there is just a feeling of welcome and comfort! It is a happy, clean, and eco friendly studio. Amy and Rick are experts in health and fitness, and care about every person that walks in the door. I love that Beyond Motion is "an all inclusive" studio which not only includes fitness, but nutrition, and massage.

When I returned in November, my fitness goals were to really start slimming down, and transform my body to the way it use to be.

I utilize the studio in pretty much all areas, fitness, massage, and nutrition. I do Pilates reformer 2x/week, personal train with Rick 2x/week, and do group fitness class 2x/week. I have tried all of the group classes but have found that Nia and Beyond Fit, to be my favorites. If you haven't tried Nia, I highly recommend it. You will leave the class very uplifted, and it is great cardio workout.

As far as my nutrition, I try to be conscious about what I eat, but I must say it is still a work in progress. Amy is such a book of knowledge when it comes to nutrition. She has counseled me, and has given me lots of tips and direction. I have been using the Usana products for over a year, and I especially like the Nutrimeal shakes.

Since November I have noticed changes in my body. My face seems thinner, and my double chin is going away!!! My clothes fit better, and some even getting loose. Many people have told me I look better than ever. All of this is so motivating!! It keeps me totally excited to keep up my program.

In December, Rick measured my body fat. Just a couple of weeks ago, we did another measure and I had dropped 5% body fat.

Amy and Rick have taken all the important factors needed for a healthy life style, and blended it in their studio. It truly is a healthy place for mind, body, and soul. I can't imagine going to another stinky gym. I have been transformed. They love what they do and it shows! I know that with their help and expertise, my body WILL continue to transform. Thank you Amy and Rick for helping me become truly fit.

Hi Amy,

I wanted to let you know that I had Juliana on August 1, 2008. She weighed 6 lbs 15 oz and was 20.5 inches long. The rest of my pregnancy went well and the delivery could not have gone easier. My water broke at 4 am and I arrived at the hospital at 5:30am and had her 7:38am. I went from 5 centimeters (when I arrived at the hospital) to 10 centimeters in 15 minutes and had no time for an epidural so it was done naturally. I think that doing pilates and yoga before and during my pregnancy was key in the easy of my delivery. I also think it helped with having an easier pregnancy. Thanks again for your help and guidance during my pregnancy! I have attached photos of Juliana.

Hi Amy,

I just wanted to thank you for the enjoyable and informative workshop you presented at the Wise Women event. Most importantly, I took away things from the workshop that I immediately put into use: I went to Wild Oats and bought the Ezekiel bread and the Agave – and ordered one of the books! I have been mystified by my lack of results in weight loss and your workshop has given me some new insights and things to try – I especially want to give low-glycemic a shot. Perhaps in the off-season I could try a consultation.

I am grateful to have found the key that opened the door for optimum health and weight loss, thanks to Amy and her Beyond Motion program.

At 49 years old, despite no weight problem during my life, I had gradually added 20 lbs. After two years of trying everything, and maintaining my calorie intake of 1,500 calories per day, I still could not loose even a half a pound. I did actually believe that at a certain age this is what you get, and I did not think it was ever going to come off.

Enter Amy and Beyond Motion ~ I had never tried this type of eating plan, but the concept seemed to strike home, since it is based on nutrition. Learning how to balance my nutrition really turned me around both mentally and physically. Gone are my biggest weaknesses for carbs and sugar, and I don't feel deprived.

I find this new way to approach food very comfortable, and in fact, easy. My biggest surprise, is that the weight is staying off. By staying within the parameters of the nutritional plan, I am able to eat socially, still experience my favorite foods, and not gain weight. Amazing!

It took about 5 months to lose all of the 20 lbs & I have kept it off for one year.

My husband, who has never been on a diet in his life, is 6 ft. and had reached 215 lbs. and he has achieved his goal of maintaining a weight under 200 lbs.

I am so happy that we did not buy into the dogma that "once you are 50 years old, this is as good as it gets". To quote my husband "this is the healthiest thing we have done since we have been married". I highly recommend this eating plan to everyone who cares about their health, taking care of their body, and wanting to be more comfortable with their overall look and vitality.
