Pilates In Naples, Florida

Joseph H. Pilates, the founder of the Pilates (pronounced Pul-ah-teez) exercise method, was born in Germany. As a child he was frail, living with asthma and other childhood conditions. To build his body and grow stronger, he took up several different sports, eventually becoming an accomplished athlete. As a nurse in Great Britain during World War I, he designed exercise methods and equipment, for immobilized patients and soldiers. Joseph believed that our physical and mental health are intertwined, so he designed his exercise program around key principles that supported this philosophy. These key principles are what makes Pilates the amazingly effective workout that it is known for.

Joseph's Key Principles include:
• Concentration
• Precision
• Control
• Breathing
• Flowing movements
Pilates is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. In addition, Pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body's "core" or "powerhouse" (torso).

Most fans of pilates say they stick with the program because it's diverse and interesting. Joseph Pilates designed his program for variety — people do fewer repetitions of a number of exercises rather than lots of repetitions of only a few.

Professional dancers have used Pilates for decades to keep their bodies strong, flexible and able to perform. Top athletes use it for strength, flexibility, and injury prevention. Hollywood celebrities and supermodels use it to maintain beautiful physiques. You can use Pilates to create your ultimate body; enhance your strength; increase your flexibility; and develop your best posture.

Benefits include:
• Builds strength without "bulking up"
• Increases flexibility and agility
• Develops optimal core control
• Create an evenly conditioned body and prevent sports injuries
• Creates flat abdominals, slender thighs and a strong back
• Assists with chronic back pain relief

Testimonials
After working out consistently for about a year, I started doing Pilates reformer with Amy in January 2009, and she catapulted my desire to be fit. While in Chicago over the Summer, I started playing tennis 4x/week. When we got back to Naples in November, I started at Beyond Motion and I'm there 5-6x/week doing various things.
